Vintage 2020 Announcement

Vintage 2020 Announcement

It is with great disappointment that we announce our decision that we’ll not be making any wines from the 2020 vintage.

The drought, which is one of the worst on record for the Orange Wine Region, and many days of smoke haze from the disastrous bushfire season have taken their toll on our vineyards. Whilst yields were always going to be low, the presence of smoke taint in the grapes was the defining element that has influenced this decision.

This decision has not been made lightly as we know it will affect our family, our business, our dedicated growers and our vintage employees. This is the first time in Printhie Wines’ history that we will not harvest our grapes.

Our priority as grapegrowers and winemakers is to continue to produce high quality cool climate wines for our customers and we look forward to 2021 to continue this tradition.

We must also not forget there are many who have suffered greater losses during the bushfire emergency across Australia so our thoughts go to those directly impacted.

Whilst we’ll not be making any wines this year, please know we are open for business and our wines remain available from previous vintages which include both Swift Sparkling and Printhie Wines. The cellar door also remains open.

As we navigate our way through this tough year, we ask for your continued support for Printhie Wines and the NSW wine industry by supporting your local wineries.
