Swift in Top 100 Wines

The Swift Vintage 2015 has been named in the Halliday Wine Companion Top 100 Wines 2024 as part of the best Australian sparkling wine.

James Halliday’s annual Top 100 was created to showcase some of the finest wines from around the country. Until announcing his retirement earlier this year, James Halliday would select the 100 best wines out of hundreds reviewed and rated across the year, the list spanning value categories of red and white wines, alongside Australian sparkling. The tasting process and featured wines provided insights into the year in wine, shining a light on the major trends and key topics across the industry.

This year, the Halliday Wine Companion Top 100 Wines 2024 has been selected by the Halliday Tasting Team. The wines are highlights from the tasting season and showcase the diversity that Australian wine has to offer.

As the Halliday Wine Companion quoted ‘Australian sparkling wine is not just for celebrating, it’s worth celebrating.’

The Swift Vintage 2015 received 97 points in the Halliday Wine Companion released in August this year and in the lead up it had an impressive run receiving the following trophies:

  • Best Sparkling Trophy WineWise Championships 2024
  • Best Sparkling Trophy Royal Adelaide Wine Show 2023
  • Best Sparkling Trophy Royal Hobart Wine Show 2023
  • Best Sparkling Trophy NSW Wine Awards 2023

It was described by wine reviewer Shanteh Wale, in the 2024 Halliday Wine Companion as “A wonder of a wine”. Shanteh also described the wine as: “65/35 per cent chardonnay/pinot noir. No mlf, eight years on lees, 3g/L dosage and disgorged October 2023. Ripe lemon skin, golden apple, lanolin, lemon myrtle and dried paper bark. Shattered oyster shell, dry sand and chalk powder. Roasted pine nut, candlenut and brie cheese skin. Undulating pools of acidity followed by blush cherries, yuzu and pineapple. The palate feels endless and fruit weight is significant, it’s carried by engaged acid and the perfectly tailored dosage. A wonder of a wine. “

Stocks are running low on the Swift Vintage 2015 so get in early to secure a top Australian sparkling.
