17 Nov Best Sparkling at NSW Wine Awards – 6 yrs in a row
It has certainly been a good wine show season for the Swift 2015 Vintage. This time picking up the Best Sparkling Trophy at the NSW Wine awards. Ed was there to accept the trophy at the lunch.
This is the 6th consecutive year that a Swift Sparkling has taken out this award. An unprecedented achievement by any winery in NSW. A huge congratulations to #teamprinthie especially the winery team – Drew Tuckwell and Viv Wheaton for all their hardwork achieving this great milestone.
When we decided to make traditional method sparkling back in 2010 we hoped it would be good but to see the range winning accolades internationally and around Australia is incredible.
The Swift 2015 Vintage is a beautiful expression of what the growing season was up to that year. With 65% Chardonnay and 35% Pinot Noir, it spends 7 years in the bottle with a little bit of barrel fermented Chardonnay as the dosage. 2015 was a cool year, which makes this wine reminiscent of a lemon meringue pie – biscuity pie base, a sharp lemon curd through line topped off with a gentle bead.
