Lovely fruit purity with grapefruit, guava and nectarine.

Crystalline acid and minerality. Matchstick, nutty oak, hint of toast, creamy lactic complexity. Lovely balance and length. Seemless structure and integration. A degree of restraint to the style, certainly not over-the-top and oaky. Fully deserving of the 'reserve' label.

Excellent aromatic intensity with typical riesling fragrance of limes, frangapani floral with hints of lavender and musk.

Pure fruit definition on the palate. The residual sweetness gives body and weight to the mid-palate and the acidity cleans up the very long finish so that it is not cloying or sweet to taste.

There is an apricot lift as this is naturally the dominant aroma of viognier but it is not cloying or overpowering.

Gladly there are other aromas and flavours such as orange citrus, frangipani like florals, a hint of lemongrass and ginger. There is a softness to the palate, with good weight and intensity. The absence of alcohol heat is a bonus.

Very much a fruit driven style.

Immediately shows typical pinot noir character with lifted cherries and raspberries. Whole bunches have added a spice note and there is some background earthiness or mushroom flavours. The acidity keeps the fruit bright. Tannins are soft and integrated.

Medium-bodied and fine-boned in structure.

There is a fineness and elegance to this wine that is almost the antithesis of Australian Shiraz. Perfumed red berries, spice, some charcuterie, soft integrated oak showing as hints of choc-vanilla and cedar. Viognier pokes its head through to give a lifted floral complexity. Lively acid provides backbone and fine tannins provide length.

There is a richness and firmness to this wine that makes it such a complete experience without being over-the-top.

Both varieties express their fruit flavours and blend together seamlessly on the palate. Oak remains in the background. Savoury tannins. The length and persistence of flavour is impressive.

Lifted exotic red fruits as well as turkish delight, ginger and some balanced chocolate, cedar oak.

The palate has good weight and density without being heavy. The acidity maintains the structure and freshness. Firm, elegant tannins provide length and allow flavour to evolve on the back palate. Certainly richer and more complex than the Mountain Range Merlot.
